Spent Fuel Storage Bay (SFSB) Cleaning Robot. This robot cleans the SFSB of all the small disintegrated particles of the spent fuel that normally collects at the bottom of the SFSB. The system Cleans, collects, transfers and then fills cans. To approximate the quantity of material being canned an in line weighing system is incorporated. All remotely controlled. The design permits collection of material without causing turbulence in water and thus avoiding dust particles from floating to the surface.
The robot can be operated in RCC or SS lined SFSB’s. The material collected is transferred underwater to a holding container which in turn transfers it to a canning system.
